Les racines historiques de ce carnaval fascinant sont issues d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement m\u00e9morable: le passage de Napol\u00e9on par le Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard, durant le printemps 1800, lors de sa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre campagne d\u2019Italie. Les costumes traditionnels ne sont pas le fruit du hasard; ils sont une interpr\u00e9tation symbolique des uniformes endoss\u00e9s par les soldats fran\u00e7ais de l\u2019\u00e9poque.
